ABOUT DHYANA

The meaning of Dhyāna

Dhyāna (dee-AH-nah) is a Sanskrit word meaning contemplation or meditation, and is the seventh of the Eight Limbs of Yoga.

At Dhyāna Yoga Wellness Lounge, we believe meditation is not separate from daily life, but something cultivated through the simple moments of each day — through movement, breath, awareness, and meaningful rituals.

Inspired by the wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda, Dhyāna is a space for exploring wellbeing both on and off the mat. Through thoughtful practices, seasonal living, mindful reflection, and holistic wellness, we create opportunities to reconnect with ourselves and the world around us.

This is a space for slowing down, finding balance, and embracing the art of a life well lived.

THE AYURVEDA CAFE
Yoga off the mat, into the world.

The Ayurveda Café is our living journal — a space for exploring daily rituals, seasonal wisdom, and simple Ayurvedic practices that support a more balanced way of living.

Here, yoga becomes something you live through food, rhythm, rest, and mindful habits — not just something you practice in class.

STUDENT REFLECTIONS

Shared experiences from students who have practiced within the Dhyāna Yoga Wellness Lounge.

- Tom, Montreal QC

I would like to say that I did 'The Spiritual Path' course with Ashleigh that combined many elements of different metaphysical philosophies, and yoga styles styles (including hatha, kundalini and tantric) which
I found quite amazing. I've also done a Lululemon yoga class with her and it was more geared to the general public (i.e. easier to follow than just jumping in.) Ashleigh cares deeply about her work and the people she teaches. I hope you try her courses out!

- Vanessa, Vancouver BC

I’m very grateful to Ashleigh, she is my favorite teacher ever. With her I learnt how to connect with my body and soul through yoga. My focus with Ashleigh was mainly to get pregnant and guess what? I was pregnant a couple months later! All the yoga classes that I had before my work with Ashleigh were
about doing the asanas (postures) perfectly and breathing well, and I know that these are important factors too, but when I let it go of that concern and started to pay attention to my body and emotions during Ashleigh’s yoga classes I connected with yoga for the first time ever, and breathing and doing the
postures, well came along with it.

- Brad, Montreal QC

Ashleigh has a deep knowledge of the subject of metaphysics and yoga and is obviously really
passionate about it. Her introduction to the chakras was really good. Her course also offered what I am looking for: yoga as part of a spiritual path, rather than yoga as a workout.
