Tears on My Yoga Mat

For me, my yoga mat has always been a sacred place.

A place for prayer.

A place for reflection.

A place for surrender.

A place for self-inquiry.

A place to process.

A place for grieving.

Over the years, there have been many tears on my yoga mat.

Not because something was wrong, but because something within me was ready to be seen, understood, and released.

My yoga practice has always been more than exercise. It has been a spiritual journey—a journey of discovering the deepest parts of myself as I gently work through the layers of who I am, what I've lived, what I've experienced, what I've come to believe, and ultimately, who I am becoming.

Sometimes, as I move through different postures, emotions begin to surface. Through every breath, every movement, every pause, and every moment of stillness between the action, I find myself processing my life in ways that words alone never could.

The tears on my yoga mat are something I welcome. They remind me that healing isn't always loud or dramatic. Sometimes, it's simply allowing myself to feel what has been waiting to be felt.

It's a process.

A release.

An understanding.

An acceptance.

A letting go.

My yoga mat is a place of worship. It's my sanctuary. It's sacred. It's where I grow. It's where I become. It's where I surrender. It's where I let go.

Ultimately, it helps me become the fullest expression of who I am.

I hope you'll begin to see your yoga practice in this way too—not simply as exercise, not simply as a series of postures, and not simply as physical movement.

Instead, see it as a practice.

A practice of healing.

A path towards greater awareness, deeper consciousness, and a fuller understanding of your own life.

For me, yoga has never simply changed the way I move my body.

It has changed the way I move through my life.
