The Life You Give Your Attention To

You can change anything in your life, but first you have to be willing to turn away from the situation as it is.

Not because your circumstances aren't real, but because they don't have to define your future.

In my experience, what we consistently give our attention to shapes the life we begin to create. If we want something different, we have to become willing to focus on something different.

Become clear about what you truly desire. Create it in your mind. See it. Hear it. Feel it. Let every one of your inner faculties experience it as though it already exists.

Then allow yourself to feel the emotions that would naturally follow if it were already yours.

Sometimes the hardest part isn't creating a new life. It's becoming willing to stop rehearsing the old one.

I'm writing this as much for myself as for anyone reading. Faith often begins with where we choose to place our attention.
