When Too Much Light Blinds Us - On contrast, longing, and the path to becoming.

I had a vision during meditation after yoga.
I was walking through a doorway that was completely flooded with light. There was so much of it that I couldn't see. The brightness itself had become blinding.
When I reflected on it afterwards, the message became clear.
Too much light is not always good. If there is only light, we cannot see. We need the right balance between light and darkness.
Light guides us forward. It reminds us of hope, love, joy, and everything that is good.
Darkness represents struggle, uncertainty, fear, pain, and the unknown. Yet it also moves us. It invites us to seek something beyond where we are.
Without struggle or contrast, would we ever long for more? Would we ever grow?
It is the duality—the contrast between light and darkness—that creates desire. In yogic philosophy, this longing becomes the cause of karma.
We all have a deep longing to become more than we are today. To learn. To love. To grow. To create.
That longing shapes our choices.
Our choices become our actions.
Our actions gradually pave the path towards our destiny.
At our core, we are creative by nature. We are constantly creating our lives, whether consciously or unconsciously. That creation is inspired by the longing to become more.
Perhaps we were built that way.
Perhaps the darkness isn't there to stop us from finding the light.
Perhaps we were never meant to fear the darkness, but to let it teach us how to recognise the light.
